Grounded in the USTA's athlete-centered coaching philosophy, I create lessons that cater to each student's unique goals, motivations, and abilities.
Before coaching tennis, I spent over a decade designing learning at Google, FranklinCovey, and other leading companies. I apply that expertise to create lessons unique to who you are as a player and a person.
Tennis is an "open" skill sport: unlike "closed" sports such as golf or bowling (also fun! just different) where you are stationary in a set environment, tennis is dynamic. When playing you need to adjust to the pace, spin, height, and location of the ball. The prettiest stationary forehand in the world is fairly useless unless someone hits the ball right to you.
That’s why my lessons are based around the play-practice-play methodology. From the first lesson, you’ll be rallying and playing games. Practice is important too! We’ll do that, but in the service of real tennis situations. Through this method, you’ll gain confidence and adaptability in your footwork, body work, and racquet work, as well as technical consistency.
Complimentary racquets are available for all lessons.
You're living the dream! And we can totally do a lesson there.
For beginners, any 36 ft x 18 ft area is enough to set up a net and play. Let's do it!
